Bio: I bring a background in elementary education, communication sciences and disorders (speech/language pathology), and developmental psychology. I have designed and implemented a graduate level learning disabilities program at St. Michael's College and taught in that program for 25+ years. I am passionate about the connections across language, literacy, and learning, I am particularly interested in higher order thinking and metacognition, for middle school and older students. Recently I have focused on early literacy and ways to help parents and teachers from preschool to Grade 3 assess and teach early language/literacy skills. I have learned the most when I worked in schools supervising graduate students, observing and researching in classrooms, and offering professional development.
